Did Dan Rather know in advance that the documents were forged?

ABC news is working the "CBS lied" angle really hard. It looks like CBS was warned in advance that the documents were probably forgeries.
ABC smells blood - circles prey. CBS doesn't have a prayer.

Another bit of evidence:
The Democrat's new anti-Bush commercial which depends on the forgeries to add to its impact.Commercials like this do not get made in a day. They take several days to a week. Minimum. To get them out in a timely fashion requires a plan.
Laura has a point about the ads: It was known last week that the DNC was going to run these "Fortunate Son" ads.
Sure looks like a plan to me.
