PLEASE HELP SOLVE THE MYSTERY: WHAT RULE OR
BYLAW ALLOWS THE CHAIRMAN OF THE HOUSE
JUDICIARY COMMITTEE TO NOT ALLOW A VOTE ON A
MARIJUANA LEGALIZATION BILL?
Dec. 5, 2011 I placed a call to the office of
House Judiciary Chair, Lamar Smith, who
did NOT allow a vote on HR 2306 to
End Marijuana Prohibition:
put on hold a 2nd time, wait, rules,
hung up on me, o.k. I'm off the phone,
here's what happened,
after 2 calls to Lamar Smith's
office and being
put on hold the first time,
the second time I was told by someone
in Judiciary Staff that Lamar Smith
would NOT put HR 2306
up for a vote, and that occurred in June 2011
and the reason is that marijuana is not legal
under federal law
and not approved by the FDA
for medical marijuana.
I asked under What Rule is the
Chairman of the Judiciary Committee
allowed to NOT put a bill up for a vote.
The person speaking to me stated that he did not know.
By then I was speaking to someone in the
Rules Committee.
I asked him to speak to his supervisor.
Then he came back and said there is
not a rule specifically
but it is somewhere in the bylaws.
I asked to speak to his supervisor,
I asked the name of his supervisor
and he hung up on me.

WHAT RULE OR BYLAW TAKES AWAY
THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH OF
U.S. CONGRESSPERSONS WHO SIGNED HR 2306?

(please note that Vermont is such a tiny state that we
only have 1 Representative to the U.S. House in Congress.
Vermont gets treated like a second class citizen sometimes.
1/3 of Vermonters draw their drinking water from Lake Champlain
which has treated sewage dumped into it.
The rich people don't care because they can afford bottled water.
Poor people can NOT afford bottled water, they drink what comes
out of their tap.

Hey, Simon. When did you last read 1984? Or have you actually read it? I read it last about 10 years ago.

Indrek,

It has been at least 20 years maybe longer.
