Steve Jobs

I am rather fortunate to have grown up in the hacker era. To have heard of Steve and Woz before they became household names. The lights are going out. A lot of us were reaching for the brass ring Steve captured. Way to go guy. And lucky (and very good) you. You will be missed.

Now about that new processor I'm working on.

Well, as someone firmly in the PC camp, I will admit that we have lost a stern foe today.

Man. Jobs is dead, Gates is retired. I don't even know what Torvalds is doing these days. It's weird having the players back when I was banging around on MS-DOS more-or-less gone.

I learned assembler on the Apple II as a kid, and I learned a thing or two about engineering your way around system constraints while figuring out the whys and wherefores of Woz's graphics system. Lord, I do miss solving those problems.

Good luck on the Forth chip. That'd be great fun if it flies. I used to love playing around with Forth, too.

I was shocked when I heard the news just this evening. Maybe because I didn't know that he had cancer. Tim of asr hip replacement
