Their Motto Is "Don't Tread On Me"

A little Tea Party Music maestro.

Goddamn, well I declare, have you seen the like?
Their walls are built of cannonballs, their motto is
Don't tread on me. Come hear Uncle John's Band playing
To the tide, come with me, or go alone.

Don't Tread On Me

Outstanding. Good and appropriate. A real treat you pulled from the archives.

The 'Dead could only have come from the United States. A bit of unique creation that tends not to work under statist policies.

I hope you're not misinterpreting those lyrics to mean the Dead would be in favor of, or align themselves with today's Tea Party. Even though that song was recorded long ago, it's clearly indicative of being against the overall "Don't Tread On Me" mentality as well as many of the other general beliefs that usually accompany that modus operandi.

Who is Uncle John's Band? And why is their motto "Don't Tread On Me."?

The Dead back in the day was very friendly with the Angels. And the Angels would be quite at home at a TEA Party. The hippies might not like it so much though.

I was generally closer to the bikers than the hippies.
