No Blood For Oil Or No Drilling For Oil?
Some one should start asking the leftys what they really want.
It is my opinion that if America started drilling for oil now as the price starts going through the roof we could bring the Middle East to its knees by bringing a lot of oil on line in the next few years.
Where would be a good place to start? Look at this map that shows where Cuba and China are drilling:
The Cubans have already found oil near our economic zone. We should get some of it too. To start.
Then we could start looking at the no zones for oil:
Building a few more refineries wouldn't hurt either.
You might want to contact your government and give them an earful:
House of Representatives
The Senate
The President
HT Gateway Pundit for the maps.

Great post, man. I followed you over from IEC Fusion.
This is a classic NIMBY (Not in my back yard) scenario. It's really pretty short-sited. But rabid environmentalists are extreme and intolerant of any exploration. Very sad, because it's the average working guy who get's hurt by higher energy costs, upper-mid-class and above can absorb the impact.
There is no way a change in American demand short of completely stopping our use of oil from the Middle East is going to "bring the Middle East" to its knees. For starters, they have great and growing demand from China and India, and, with current (and rising) oil prices, will have plenty of income no matter what. Also, the oil industry has said there's no way any drilling efforts begun now will produce much oil at all for a decade, and probably more, and by then our demand could be quite small compared with the rest of the world.
It's too bad your comments are so politically polarized, as it really detracts from your credibility. I don't know who your guru is, but suggest you get a new one.
OK Tim I'm convinced.
We know oil demand will be higher in 10 years so there is no point in starting a ten year project to help meet that demand.
I wish my arguments were that good.
