Hammered

Hot Air has some interesting quotes about Democrat expectations for the results of the 2 November election. Here is one I particularly liked from Politico.

“‘Everybody that is tied will lose, and everyone that is ahead by a few points will lose because of the GOP wave,’ said one party media consultant who is involved in a wide array of House races. ‘There are going to be some surprises.’”
Yes there will be. But it is not clear who they will be. You will have to watch to see how it unfolds on election night.

So does this mean the American people suddenly love the Republicans? Not on your life. Here is another quote from the Politico article that discusses that very point.
“Here’s the part of this that bothers me the most: This is not an embracing of Republicans. It’s a rejection of Democrats,” said Andrew Myers, a veteran Democratic pollster who worked on several House campaigns.
Winning this election is because independents, libertarians, and some fiscally conservative Democrats are voting for Republicans.

If Republicans try to do anything but mind the money (like ramp up their ever popular among the conservative base abortion crusade) they will lose in the next election. And that would be really dumb since the next election is a Presidential election. And if they don't mind the money? Fugeddaboutit.

The Second, feeling of the tusk,

Cried, "Ho! what have we here
So very round and smooth and sharp?

To me 'tis mighty clear
This wonder of an Elephant

Is very like a spear!"

But I agree about the money. If they don't mind THAT, they are done. Viva La Tea Party!
