Well, I read the PDF, and understood it all, thanks to Tom Ligon's brilliant simplification of the physical dynamics and his clear writing!
What he reports is VERY EXCITING to me, and I see that with the next prototype we'll break-through to some REALLY BENEFICIAL results & learning!
With these studies, observations and results being shared at the speed of internet, there WILL be a convergence of excellent minds, focused on this dynamic and swiftly-crystallizing challenge!
One thing that was not clear to me is the final coupling, the final output, MSimon... where (or how or why) do we get the excess of energy when the controlled fusion starts?
If I understand your question correctly:
The energy output is due to the conversion of matter to energy.
ie. 3 Heliums weigh less than a Boron 11 plus a Hydrogen.
Or in the case of Deuterium - 1 Helium weighs less than 2 Deuteriums.
