Sister Flute
I just learned an interesting term I had never heard before: Sister Flute. It refers to audience reaction at gospel music shows. Power Line discusses that in terms of Obama the Redeemer.

Sister Flute. Ha ha. I was just now reading Power Line, saw that term, am looking it up and saw your entry. Thank you.
For awhile there I was thinking it was a movie character perhaps with Woopi Goldberg or something.
Sister Flute is mentioned in the book by Daniel Wolffe titled You Send Me, The Life and Times of Sam Cooke.
A fascinating phenomenon.
