I think...I kind of like GB's version of patriotism.

I think it is good to have a successful Arab democracy - it is already influencing other countries in the region.

Functional self government is good for everyone. In fact it is Congressional Policy to end tyranny in the world (pretty ambitious huh?). Bush is implementing that policy. I'm sure others could do that better, but no one on the D side seems interested.

The Democrats have lost their idealism. Compare that with this Democrat:

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty. - John F. Kennedy

Could any Democrat stand up and say that today? Which is why I'm a libertarian oriented Republican.M. That block of voters who are black, according to polls, was very torn when it came to a decision at the onset of this primary race, to vote for HRC who they know and a 'young unknown..but..black hope candidate'.
I believe that time and time again Obama has shown his blackness is as deep as the next vote. His promises to transcend race, transparent politics and honesty have been underscored by his non stands on issues that are very important to all races. His older 'followers' are already leaving the 'planet' according to exit polls. He is aware and campaigns extensively in college areas and very heavily where he can sign voters who are not as educated on the issues as can be and still follow the hype of whatever he is spewing that day.
His core of upper-educated whites started abandoning him in Ohio and Texas, The Mississippi primary exit polls also showed HRC picking up white men and women of all races in addition to the above.
Older, wiser blacks know in their hearts that the prior Clinton administration was very good for all of us. They also know Mrs. Clintons commitment to us never wavered, regardless of color or religion.
There are so many contradictions to Mr Obama's public image coming forward now. His long standing claim to 'accept no funds from lobbyists' is a major albatross on his transparency theme as he is now #1 in bundled and lobbyists cash donations, his legislative records are an issue..not because of transparency..but because he has given 4 different versions of where they are and why he hasn't produced them. The changing story with Rezko is unbelievable and African Americans can see and hear just as well as whites..they know he is not as he would like us to believe.
So, I am not worried about real Democrats..ultimately they will go with HRC and like the last Bush/Gore episode, will talk about it alot for years to come. Its just too bad that dignity is so expensive to all of us.
Mr Obama, with his lies and racial politics, led by his white advisors Plouffe and Axelrod, will have destroyed much of our progress to live as one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all..
too bad for our dreams, however, a real opportunity exists for us and for Mrs Clinton, to help us through many of the issues the entire country faces which include economic, environmental and the redefinition of true patriotism-not GB version.Fest Folkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13517147346564916308noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282587.post-46035100830333285492008-03-23T17:14:00.000+00:002008-03-23T17:14:00.000+00:00Let me add that he never pulled the wool over my e...Let me add that he never pulled the wool over my eyes. My decision to vote for him in '04 was that I really didn't like Keyes. And I'm a sort of Republican.

If you look at the voting pattern in '04 you will see that there was a lot of undervoting in the Senate race and a significant number of Rs went for Obama.M. He is tarnishing the brand. Not as badly as himself, but it is there. He is taking the whole party down with him. Guilt by association.

Also - Hillary can't win without the Black vote. Expectations are so high in the black community now that if Hillary takes the nomination it will be attributed to dirty tricks. She would then be lucky to get 10% of the black vote. When people feel abandoned they get vindictive. So some of those black votes will go for McCain.

It is my opinion that the Democrats have screwed the pooch this year. And the pooch is a St. Bernard. I saw a comment somewhere that said there is a 1/5 chance the Democrat Party will never recover. I can't say what the odds are but it is not insignificant.

As to Chicago politics - dirty as they come. I lived there for 10+years, I am familiar with it.M. (Please read Barak Obama & Me; HoustonPress.com;February 20, 2008; Todd Spivac) Emil Jones' comment when asked about favors from Obama for putting his name on the bills..refers to the many favors, and his entire record of the time he was a Legislator, for which the paper trail has seemingly disappeared (Barak Obama has said "they are lost", "I was to busy to keep a record", "I left them for the new guy"..the new guy says "there was nothing here when I arrived".."oh, I threw out everything") as 'steak' not pork.
David Axelrods skillful manipulation of the media..Wright on page 6 after Obama decries Bush and his 'attempt to vilify him by uncovering ammunition from his passport file'. Whoa! The best yet.
Demand Condaleeza Rices resignation? Unreal..nothing like using the African American community for publicity and discing them when the Jenna 6 needed him.
Anyway, if the mainstream media ever does its job and follows the money from Rezko wife's sale of the Obama lot to their mutual acquaintance..back to the donation from the buyer( the same acquaintance), to Obamas campaign, an interesting trail will begin to emerge. By the way, the Obama campaign released additional donor lists the same day they set of the Wright fracas and the additional 127,000 dollars of donations to his campaign from Rezko and his associates and their acquaintance. Which event garnered more attention? Of course the cursing minister..
This was another classic get rid of 'Muslim label Friday'..what better way to do it? Announce a 'major' speech on race set for 4 days later..let the country see Obama is not a Muslim..but a consciously aware Christian concerned with the 'race' issue and how it divides us! All the while keeping it forefront by comparing his white grandmother and Mrs Ferraro to 'stereotypical white racists'..What foolish 'folks' we all are to listen..and how far did he pull the wool over our eyes about the new revelations regarding Rezko?
I am sorry if the tone of this post seems angry. I am angry-I admit it- I am angry because Barak Obama preys on young, malleable people, it angers me that he is willing to disenfranchise 2 million 'folks' using foul play in order to maintain a delegate lead which would assure him a better chance at winning and says publicly 'Hillary Clinton will stoop to anything to win'..again another example of his verbal hypocrisy.
Barak Obama campaigned in Florida with TV ads, Hillary Clinton did not. Barak Obama instructed his 'followers' to vote 'uncommitted' in Michigan-they did-now he negates his own words and actions? He never was elected in Illinois-he used his constitutional background to have his single opponent disqualified-for 5 years in Illinois before Emil Jones, no one even knew his name. Yes I am angry because he and his all 'white' top tier campaign staff insult all of us, every way they can by using the oldest ploys in politics..say it over and over and eventually the idiots believe it.
I am not an idiot and will never vote for him or anyone associated with him as his history in the graft politics on trial in Chicago, obviously has influenced him more than his grandparents who loved him and pastor who counseled him.Fest Folkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13517147346564916308noreply@blogger.com
