It's an old idea but new to me.
That explains why it's not being talked about.
Now I know.
I'll be keeping an eye on a project now under development in North Georgia.Hootshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01108363655472450828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282587.post-79165471475605909082009-02-20T02:39:00.000+00:002009-02-20T02:39:00.000+00:00Hoots,The idea of plasma reduction of waste is an ...Hoots,

The idea of plasma reduction of waste is an old one. I was hearing about it in the 60s.

The question is: is it economical for large scale waste processing? We won't know until we have some large plants running for a few years.M. I heard just enough to get my curiosity going and it seems to have been around for six or eight years now. Wikipedia has an article. But for some reason it isn't on any of the media radar screens I have seen.
As I said, just curious. And you're as close to a technical expert as I know.Hootshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01108363655472450828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282587.post-64372536271691481752009-02-19T15:31:00.000+00:002009-02-19T15:31:00.000+00:00People not under compulsion and with more time tha...People not under compulsion and with more time than money often do things in ways that interest them.

In the end he may not get what he wants - but he will get an education.M. I cannot see how a laser welding system is essential when it seems to me an ordinary welding system (mig, tig) would work just fine.

Seriously, the bigger problems in my estimation are making a vacum chamber with air tight feed throughs, pulling a hard vacum, and making decent magnets. I don't see where needing a laser (that barely burns wood) even shows up on the list.

DavidRavingDavehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07671059573191161552noreply@blogger.com
